We believe in the philosophy of Maktub. Maktub is an Arabic term and stands for it is written. It exemplifies the idea that some things are meant to be. What is yours will find you . This doesn’t imply you should sit back and let life happen to you. The Maktub philosophy stimulates acceptance and joy of the process. By accepting that you cannot control every outcome, it forces you to focus on and enjoy the process more.

At MaktubMaroc we use surfing as a metaphor for life. Surfers enjoy the entire experience of what it takes to catch a wave, the extensive paddling, the power of the ocean trying to push you back to the shore over and over, and ultimately experiencing the moment of catching a wave. At MaktubMaroc we help you to experience joy in every part of the process.

MEET OUSSAMA

Hi! I am Oussama, I am a true ocean child. Born and raised in Skhirat plage, I never lived more then 500 meter away from my beloved ocean until I moved with my wife Kirsten to the Netherlands in 2021. In the Netherlands I quickly realized that a man without his ocean is just not the same man. The ocean stirs my heart, inspires my imagination and brings me endless joy to my soul.

At MaktubMaroc I am the experienced head surfcoach, lifeguard and MaktubMaroc’s activity master, whatever it is that you would like to do I will arrange it for you!

Meet Soufiane “Zabat”

Soufiane “Zabat” is one of our surf instructors and my younger brother, proudly part of the Maktub Maroc family.

Born and raised by the ocean, he’s been surfing from a young age and knows the sea inside out. His lessons are calm, safe, and effective but what really sets him apart is his sense of humor. With jokes in and out of the water, he keeps lessons fun, relaxed, and full of good vibes.

Learning to surf with Zabat means real progress, lots of laughs, and an unforgettable surf experience.
